Spin

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 21, 2026

Spin is a free vinyl-style music player for the web at spin.pickwhich.one, made by Danny Garcia (“I”, “me”). This policy explains what Spin collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: Spin has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. If you don’t create an account, nothing about you is stored on my servers.

Using Spin without an account

Your turntable settings (finish, vinyl, layout, theme and so on) are saved only in your browser’s local storage so they’re there next time. They never leave your device unless you create an account. You can clear them at any time by clearing site data for Spin in your browser.

Like any website, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical request data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. I don’t use this data to identify or profile you.

Accounts (optional)

You can create an account to sync your settings and presets across devices. If you do, Spin stores:

DataWhyHow long
Your email addressTo identify your account and send sign-in codesUntil you delete your account
One-time sign-in codes (stored hashed) and the IP address that requested themTo sign you in and to rate-limit abuseDeleted after about 24 hours
A session cookie (HttpOnly, Secure)To keep you signed in90 days from your last visit (renewed while you use Spin), or until you sign out
Your Spin settings and saved presetsTo sync your setup across devicesUntil you delete them or your account
Whether you’ve connected Apple Music (yes/no only)To remind you to reconnect on a new deviceUntil you delete your account

That’s all. Spin doesn’t ask for your name, password, phone number or payment details.

Apple Music

If you connect Apple Music, sign-in happens with Apple through Apple’s MusicKit, and Spin never sees your Apple Account password. Apple gives your browser a music access token, which MusicKit stores in your browser. Your library, playlists and recently played items are requested directly from Apple by your browser and shown to you inside Spin. They are not sent to or stored on Spin’s servers, and they’re never used for advertising or shared with anyone. Playback requires your own Apple Music subscription. Apple’s handling of your data is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time from Spin’s Apple Music panel or from your Apple Account settings.

Service providers

I don’t sell or rent your personal information, and I don’t share it with anyone except these providers, and only as needed to run Spin, or when the law requires it.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights to access, correct, delete or object to processing of your data. Email me to exercise them. I’ll respond within 30 days.

Cookies

Spin uses a single essential cookie, the session cookie described above, and only if you sign in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

Security

Connections use HTTPS, sign-in codes and session tokens are stored only as hashes, and access to account data is limited to the account owner. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Children

Spin isn’t directed at children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, email me and I’ll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top.
